2024 Bursary Awards

We are very pleased to announce that we have additional funding for the Chellington Bursary Fund thanks for the generosity of the Carlton Education Trust.

This means that we are able to accept new applications for schools or youth groups looking for financial support with their residential experience at Chellington in 2024 or 2025.

Christmas Drinks at Chellington

Thanks to all our friends and supporters who joined us for Christmas drinks on 11th December at the Centre.

It was lovely to see lots of new faces as well as many familiar ones.

Special thanks to our neighbour Raj for generously donating our Christmas tree and delivering it too!

Chellington Bursary open for 2023 applications

New Red Kite campsite available for schools and youth groups

Our long-awaited Herald Buidling is finished and the new Red Kite camping grounds are open. This means we can now welcome larger groups of up to 66 young people with some staying indoors and some camping.

We can now offer camping for a further 30 in our brand new sole-use camping zone, complete with modern showers/toilets in the new Herald Building (13 Vaude tents…

Green Tourism Silver Award

We're very proud of our Silver Award from Green Tourism 

Since going independent we have had a schedule of works to make the centre as green as possible, which is no mean feet when you're talking about 12th century church!

Heralding a new chapter

Our vision for the future of the Chellington Centre moved closer to reality this spring with the opening of our new “Herald Building”.

The creation of the Herald Building adjacent to the main building increases our overall  capacity to 66 through the addition of washroom facilities to support camping. It also provides a much-needed permanent work place for paid and voluntary team members…

100% Green

The centre is run on 100% renewable energy, with our air source heat pumps taking care of the hot water and heating and our electricity coming from 100% renewable sources hydro and wind through SSE's green tariff.

Change in group exit time

The exit time for all overnight groups has changed to 12pm (midday). This is to support our enhanced cleaning protocol and procedure and make sure we have enough time to prepare for the next group.
 
This change took affect for all bookings from the 12th of April 2021,
